Payambaran Hospital has 3 intensive care units (ICUs). Each unit has 11 beds: 10 standard beds and 1 bed reserved for isolation patients. The units are equipped with an advanced, regularly calibrated monitoring system. Bedside dialysis is also available in the ICU. For patient comfort, advanced beds with smart, alternating-pressure foam mattresses are used and anti-clot (DVT) pumps are available. The air-conditioning system of these units is fitted with HEPA filters, and the isolation room has positive pressure to prevent the spread of infection. In the ICU, treatment procedures such as central venous catheter placement, Shaldon catheter, pleural and peritoneal catheter placement, and bedside tracheostomy are possible, as well as diagnostic procedures such as bedside ultrasound and echo. For better care, a specialized wound team treats patients' wounds. The hospital's physiotherapists are also responsible for rehabilitation and mobilization of patients, and speech therapy and swallowing therapy are carried out at the patient's bedside. To respect privacy, the beds are separated by curtains and screens. In addition, the patient's condition and course of treatment are reported to the family daily by the attending physician and nurse.
