Introduction to the Endoscopy Department

The endoscopy unit includes reception, two examination rooms, a recovery area with 15 beds equipped with cardiopulmonary monitoring, 3 procedure rooms, a lead-shielded room for ERCP, two washing rooms and more. In a spacious, calm setting and using the latest equipment in the world, the unit serves outpatients and inpatients every day. During holidays the unit is also available on call to serve emergency patients if needed. The physicians active in this department are gastroenterology and pulmonology sub-specialists, who, together with anesthesiologists and experienced nurses and technicians, perform the most complex interventional (non-surgical) procedures in their fields. Endoscopy is performed under the supervision of an anesthesiologist and without any pain. Outpatients are admitted directly in this department by opening an outpatient file and, after the procedure, are discharged on the order of the treating physician. This unit has contracts with most basic and supplementary insurers (all insurers are online). To prevent infection, all patient supplies are single-use.
